dagwaagin 2009 began with a community feast and forum presenting a 5-year study grant, the manoomin project, a study of thepast, present and future wild riceharvest on Fond du Lac reservation lakes. . Over a five year period.students will assist in gathering as well as analyze data through visits to the LacCore labs, Twin Cities campus and the Fond du Lac Natural Resources lab. Regular gidakiimanaaniwigamig classes will support skills needed to complete the manoomin grant requiremnts through sharpened observation and deducation skills such as drawing and painting, nature walks, making, tinkering,robotics, computer research and Media Arts. The lake study is a coordinated effort t by Fond du Lac's Department of Natural Resource, the University of Minnesota's Limilogical Department-LacCore and the Fond du Lac Trbal and Community College with gidakiimanaaniwigamig High School students and teachers. Everyone will participate in collecting core samples and analyzing the cores.

Students also continued work collecting and comleting research for thier 2010 Science Fair project. Hypothosis was decided, plans were made to conduct tests, collect data, study results and write proceedures.Additional gidakiimanaaniwigamig classes supported skills in observation and deducation i.e. (drawing and painting, nature walks, making, tinkering,robotics, computer research and Media Arts).
